I woke up with a start. "Ow!" I said with clenched teeth. I looked around. I was drenched with mud, in the mud puddle. I lifted myself out of the mud puddle. I felt dizzy and I had a headache. I felt my head. I took my hand back and looked at it. It was covered with blood! "The bullet must have grazed me. I'm so stupid!" I cried. I could see the headlines now: "hit man dies for the love of a cow." That would go over well. "At least I'm still alive," I said. Suddenly I remembered. I shot the blue cow! I frantically looked around. There it was. The blue cow. Lying in the mud puddle. The blue cow was dead. I picked a daisy from the field and laid it on the blue cow's body. "I'm so sorry, Maurice," I whispered. "Good bye."
